Re: PNW Conditions

We're getting buried.  Winter Storm Warning through Wednesday on the East side.  As JTG has reported, It's good on the West side too.  There are some early whispers of another cycle for next weekend.  Now is a good time to check-out the PNW.

Blower conditions at Mission this Morning.

Nepa, do you have any early season pictures to compare thin coverage with what you have now?

Sure, I've got ton's of shots around the ski area, but I think a backyard shot provides a pretty good perspective

This was after our first plowable snowfall on December 1st

I took this one yesterday... same spot, but a landscape as opposed to a portrait

At its highest point, the retaining wall stands at 50 inches.

Low elevation snowpack rarely gets this good...this was shot on Squilchuck road about 2000 vf below my house

Man the west is going off.  If I lived out there I would not have worked for a month.

It's been up and down... Snow pack is still pretty thin in general across the Cascades... everybody should be opening up this week... we have a big one knocking at the door for the weekend...

If you can make it out here for the weekend, we should have some good snow for you.

Re: PNW Conditions

JTG4eva!
Just read through all the NWAC observations and there are a couple of potential PWL issues throughout the Cascades, but things seem relatively quiet.  Deeper snowpacks may have consolidated better than a lot of locations that are still suffering an early season snowpack.

Right now Baker has a good base, is 100% open, and looks to get hammered (to the tune of 6 plus feet) in the 10 days.  Especially given the shit state of East Coast skiing for the forseable, a trip out to Baker might be well timed for Jan 11-13.....

Booked at Crystal Sat-Mon, bringing my oldest two kids.  3 feet over the past 3 days, with potentially another 4 feet through Monday.  If I was solo I may have gone Baker, but I think my kids will enjoy Crystal more.

4th day in a row with greater than a foot of snow at Stevens!  Their snowpack has grown by 5 ft in the past 2 weeks. Pass has been closed since last night,
