Platte behind the curve in opening

Not looking for a fight or shit storm

But it seems Platte is a bit behind the rest of the Catskill areas in getting opened..

Lol. Why post this, if you're not looking to start shit?

I'll be there Saturday. I'll let you know how it is.

Interesting.

MC... can't make Saturday family obligations, but I'll come up Sunday looking forward to your update.

It says in their website that they may only have the learning center open this weekend. I think this is due to a compressor failure they had when starting up for the first time earlier this week. Would have been nice if they at least did a test run a couple weeks ago during all that cold weather around thanksgiving. Could have worked the issue out sooner.

I'm hoping I don't have to ski Hunter this weekend as well.
I'll take boilerplate ice over wet snow any day

Well, of course. It's a natural snow mountain. Snowmaking is expensive. Go to Huntah, Joey.

I’ve been watching the reports out east and it does seem a bit odd that they couldn’t have opened up yet. I mean, with all the hype about the snowvember and all.

One thing though is that the public always has an opinion or expectation without knowing what's really going on. It's not like any business likes being closed if they could be open and making money.

You guys seem tight with the owner, will he let you skin it?

Seems like a perfect way to boost your early season fitness

I'd be all over that if I lived there.

The Catskills got some snow though not the snow that 2 hours further North got.  Its such a difference from the valley to mountains even in VT like nothing to feet in a few miles.  Looking forward to hopefully making it to Plattekill with the family this winter. Oh, and we do have to ski Huntah as well.

The family that skis together, stays together.
