This thread makes me happy. I swear, in a few years once I'm done with school I'm coming out there to ski at Plattekill!

Ski Day 27: In the spirit of the thread I'll keep it short. Great to ski with Sean and Lisa, Chris, Jerry Steinfall, Diamond Dave, Laz and Danielle and of course Ethan.  I never caught up with Catskill Freeheel, Marcski or Abbyski.  While we were skiing on 90% man_a_made it was still a great day. There is something about the place that just makes me so happy.

First Tracks, as usual

Catskill Freeheel

Diamond Dave

Giant Slalom

View from North Face

Laz (got to love the lift ticket, there is a new sheriff in town.)

I like how by skiing about 10-15 times at a new mountain (for me) this year, I recognize a lot of the faces (and can attach names to the people) in these pictures.

I think that has more to do with the community vibe of Plattekill than anything. I'm not sure I'd be able to do the same at a place like Okemo or Mount Snow, but I think I could at a place like Mad River Glen. Some mountains just put out that "family" vibe.

Totally agree. MRG, Platty, our home  mountain Pico, I would even say GORE. Bromley, Magic too. Oh, Add Bolton to that list too.

Harv,

Sorry we never caught up with you yesterday.  I was looking for you on the deck, hoping to grab a cold one and introduce you to Crosby.  Next time...

Great shot of CatskillsFreehall with the triple's shadow!!

I stayed way later than usual for a Sunday, left around 4. Were you in the bar? Looked for you, but was out on the deck.

It really was a great day. It was awesome to have 33 on Saturday with snowmaking, and 55 on Sunday. It's like January and April in one weekend! Great to catch up with you again Harvey.
I'll take boilerplate ice over wet snow any day

He was in his crate in the back of my car.  He is still a pup and eats everything, so when he is alone he's still in a crate, even at home.  Since it was so nice on Sunday, I figured he would have more fun with us at the mountain and would get more time out of his crate than just me giving him a midday walk.
