When Laz spoke to ML and I he said any weekend after Columbus Day. I think the group felt that last year the day was too late, as the weather was cold and rainy.

Anybody who is legitimately thinking of participating, pls post in this thread, maybe include days that are not possible.

EDIT: ML corrected me, earliest is 10/24.

EDIT EDIT: Changed the name of your post Thehof, got plans for it as the official thread.

Once the date is set, as long as I have no prior commitments, I'll be there.

Still waiting on final date confirmation.

Working on a recruiting post for the NYSB home page. If anyone has any sweet hires images of Platte tree skiing PM me, would appreciate it.

Gaining some momentum on this looking like potential for a good turnout.

I cannot wait for this! I have wanted to help out since the first event but unfortunately had some prior commitment each time. I can finally make it this year.

The blog post says to bring "loppers / bow saw / leatherman" as cutting tools. No chainsaws? I assume the focus is on cutting small diameter brush and saplings but I was just wanted to confirm. Sometimes a downed tree needs to be bucked up and moved or a stump flush cut. I'd be happy to bring one if you think it'd be helpful. Also, a buzzing a two-stroke engine can be obnoxious to work near so I completely understand a hand-tool only policy. Just let me know. Thanks

Nice ck.

I always assumed that the mountain wanted to handle chainsaws themselves to avoid liability.  Not positive about that, maybe ml can confirm.

Breakfast at the Phonecia diner on 28. They open at 7. It's a ritual stop for us on the way whenever we go to Platty.
Looking forward to Saturday.
