Plattekill NY: 2/14/16

This post was updated on .
Ski Day 26: I set the alarm for 4am in North River and packed up. Conveniently the pipes froze just as I was leaving.

Car said minus 20 when I got in it at 5am. Man the key is synthetic oil... don't think I would have gotten started with conventional oil. Coldest I saw was minus 23 in Wells on the way down to Roxbury.

Snow looked great on arrival at Plattekill and it was.  I was on the first chair. Morning was cold and Face was in the sun so most of us lapped the triple all day.

Was really tough on the hands to shoot, and in addition my camera is new, so I was trying to baby it. Only got it out twice.

Look I know it was, in theory, not fit for man nor beast. But today was much fun.

I am curious too..  The kids took the day off yesterday so we all skipped.  They did 1/2 day on Saturday in -11 to -18F and were really hurting. Didn't want to do that to them again.

Really nice shots here...

Great photos Harv  that takes dedication and talent to work a camera in those bitter temps. Hope MC is still at Plattie  in March . Kids and I want to see him rip!

Marcski, I see you have the same skis I do. Only I'm still on an Alpine set up. I am going to have to convert one of these days.

Yeah, I like the Watea 96's.  I got a great deal on them online last winter. I think they were a 2013-2014 model year. Rocker tip, camber underfoot, wood core ski.  And, I highly recommend Tele.  I've been on it full time for just less than a year and I don't see myself going back!

Fantastic shot of Matt.  That's the image all us tele'rs should aspire to.  Guessing "Ace" is the Mrs.?  All pics are fantastic and shows Platty for how cool a mountain it is.

The Plattekill blue is legend.

Gunny... maybe more stupidity than dedication.

I agree tele keeps you young. I never locked a heel either.

For the record BRLKED you are an animal. Hope I am rocking it like you at 65.
