Plattekill Powder Daize: 2004 Video!

In January 2004, the webmaster of First Tracks Online produced and posted an article including a video featuring ten-minutes of Powder Daize footage. He just reposted it and I figured that all the Plattekill fans here would enjoy it.

My first day there was in 2003 but I've never had the pleasure of attending a Powder Daize so this is fun to watch on a variety of levels.

That's a fun video. What year did the T bar come out?

The double came from Belleayre.  It was removed in spring 1999, and replaced with a CTEC fixed quad that extended further down the hill known as Superchief.  That lift was upgraded to high speed in summer 2006.  The double sat in storage for 4 seasons, and was installed at Plattekill on the Plunge trail for the 2003-04 season.  The T-bar one trail over was initially left in place to be a backup, but was rendered useless with the new double, so it was removed in 2006.  It might be getting reinstalled at a small local ski area in NH.  Ethan Snow also has some parts from it on his lift.

Who cares, but I coulda sworn that the t-bar was in place a while longer than 2006.

Speaking of, I'm probably several years behind the format change, but over Xmas I tuned into the former classic rock station 95X and "Dazed and Confused" is no longer in its playlist -- nothing but alternative bollox from the mid-90s, ugh.

HOLY!   And they still call themselves a classic rock station

Whenever I travel thru Cuse I always tune that station in ----- maybe not so much now
