That is way too much pole cam. I don't mind helmet cams if there's another skier in front of them getting filmed but everything in moderation. That's hard to watch

Not a huge fan of pole cam but POV is the worst except in a few rare circumstances with users that know how to make a good POV cut. At least with pole cam, there is a subject for the video. I think it gives a better perspective for what the conditions are like as well. I am just baffled that someone cares so much about a selfie video that they wouldn't completely focus in the task at hand, that they are willing to give up a pole plant for a video is weird to me. You can ski just fine without poles, no doubt. But why sacrifice a tool you can use for the best possible turn to make a video? I dunno. Call me an old fuddy duddy at 38.

I don't care for the pole cam. Maybe a few seconds if it's the super deep blower but only a few seconds. The one arm pole planting looks weird and unnatural to me too. I also don't like staring at some dudes O-face for much more than a couple of seconds if I have to at all. It's sort of like....gnarcissm eh?

I still like good POV vids. I think it's great how easy it is to record footage and make short edits. Puting together a whole 3 minutes or so of hand cam footage that doesn't suck is a ridiculous amount of effort and you would basically not be skiing. Because of that I don't think POV vids are going to go anywhere. The thing is is that the majority of people that buy the GoPros aren't really able to produce footage that people are going to want to see so they use it a couple of times and then the Go Pro gets tucked away in some closet or drawer and doesn't get used again. I'm guessing that the market for their product has been saturated by this point but I'm no business guy.

Nah - the videos filmed by a drone tracking behind the individual is next.

VIdeo drone is both awesome and terrible.

IMO the pole cam sucks WORSE than helmet because the skier is not really experiencing turn.  For me I'm not convinced it improves the experience.

At least the helmet cam is set and forget. Sorta.

You just jealous because you can't ski holding a pole so you can show everyone how great you are. (This guy can't pull it off either).

I much prefer POV over pole cam... but POV can suck worse than anything if the end product is poorly composed. I think a healthy mix of various perspectives makes an interesting video.

For example, the transition and ascent shots in this vid are pretty good... I think adding more than just the skiing makes a good video also.
