Powder Mountain UT, 02/15/2019

Left Sandy early on Friday, and made our way up to Powder Mountain.  6 inches over night were on the report. We arrived 20 minutes before opening.  8,000 acres of primo-hippie pow awaited us.  We skied slightly dense untracked snow from wired to wire.  We were like kids in a candy store.  It was not too deep, and it was a bit heavy by Wasatch standards, but it made for the perfect depth to density ratio.  The place is immense.  A lot of stuff to explore. Nothing too steep.  We took advantage of the side country shuttle for multiple untracked laps in the early afternoon.  Late in the day we found steeper shaded lines off the Paradise chair that yielded just as much fun as the first run.  A great last day in the Wasatch.

Planned several times over the past 18 years to go to PM but always felt the irresistible pull of Snowbasin and turned left. Too bad as it sounds like my kind of place if conditions are right.

An interesting discussion of PowMow on FTO:

Wish I was... Our timing wasn't quite right... Just finished up at Sun Valley today.  Headed north now.  Skiing Bluewood tomorrow, and then back home.

Bummer. I would’ve liked to show you around. We are getting cycled right now and the mountain was buffed out real good by the wind the last few days. Next time! Enjoy SV

Glad you got Powder Mt under your belt , if you think its uncrowded now you should have been there in the 80's.It took weeks to track the hill. Friday at Snowbird was wind groomed free refills all day.Locals were saying the best day so far this season , we agreed.

Powder mountain lives up to its name. Are they still doing cheap cat rides?
Don't ski the trees, ski the spaces between the trees.

The price went up considerably.  It's now $25 per ride.
