President's Weekend

snoloco
With natural snow and snowmaking temps, this very important weekend should be booming at all ski areas.  They need a really big holiday weekend after MLK Weekend this year, plus all 3 holiday periods last year went bust.

For my home mountain, everything is open, except The Slides, LBO, Empire, and CS Glades.  I heard snowtribe was moving to LBO this week and I saw guns staged at the top on Sunday.  The rest could be opening soon since there's more natural snow coming.

Looks like Gore could be close to 100% open also.
I've lived in New York my entire life.

Not sure what you're trying to say, but as much as I dislike spending my day trying to work around crowds and lift lines, that is what needs to happen for the greater good of WF/LP, as well as the entire ski industry.  Accept and embrace it, or plan to ski backcountry this weekend, which will probably be in great shape.

Vermont's in even better shape than New York if you can travel.  That's where I'll be.
Can we get SOME snow?  Please?

I skied Sugarbush ($14.00 valentines special!) yesterday and Gore today. I would say overall conditions were pretty much the same.

Probably skiing Gore Saturday. Thinking about WF Sunday. Not having skied WF in a couple years and never on a holiday weekend curious how busy it will be.

Obviously will be busy, especially with the snow in people's backyards, but long lifeline busy? Crowded trail busy? Or manageable busy. I'm sure Gore will be close to the same (or worse?). Although I have yet to ski Gore on a holiday weekend either.

Re: President's Weekend

I haven't skied anywhere on a holiday in a while, but have skied Gore a few years back for Presidents weekend. I would expect Gore (and everywhere else) to be crowded, but crowds are manageable at Gore. The lifts at the base lodge are where the lines will be. So avoid them especially during peak times (10:00-11:30 and 1:00-2:00).

Parking could also be an issue if you arrive late, like 10:30 as you could be way down the access road.

The conditions will be great.
