I think I need to watch "Miracle" this weekend before I watch any Olympic events. I smiled when Tretiak carried the torch, because Herb Brooks' squad of no-name college players made him ride the pine in the 1980 games.
That being said, it's worth a read to see many of the issues plaguing these Olympics. Forget the spectacle on TV- the stray dog situation, the dueling toilets, the unfinished construction, the yellow water, etc. No thank you.
Scratch a Russian, find a Red. Scratch a Scotsman, find a Pirate. BTW, Stalin's personal chef/henchman's surname was...wait for it, Putin. Imagine that.
So far I have been watching it all online. The coverage on NBC and their other stations is way to athlete story focused and less about what is happening on the hill/ice/whatever. The streaming coverage is rather good though.
