Satellite view of Gore

Interesting satellite view of Gore on google maps showing a bit of remaining snow at Gore. I don't know when the photo was taken. But what I found odd was snow on uncas and a small amount on topridge given they both face south. Also snow on Chatimac where little or no blowing was done.

Looks like a post season shot.

It does look like this earlier shot from 5.6.95



But yeah, on Earth it states its from november... anyone remember a storm about that 11.9 or 10?

hey skimore, can you check that black and white one too?

That historical slider doesn't necessarily mean what you are viewing is from that date. Not all areas may be included for that date. Just go to view and enable status bar and you will get the imagery date like the pic I posted.

Another example would be some of the high peaks. You can see a slightly different shade and if you mouse over its dated post Irene. You can see some of the new slides in that area
