Short Term Winter Weather 2011-12

How is that Thursday storm looking for the DAKS?  Could be a decent snow event?  Rain at all?

looks like rain right now, maybe brief period of snow at the end but I am not hopefull.

The NWS WF spot forecast at 3800 feet now says all snow no rain but the LP forecast calls for a mix.

do we have reason to be more optimistic?

Not really..Some snow at the end , but for the most part it will be light..

Darrin at ADK weathersite isn't holding out much hope for snow anywhere on Thursday but thinks friday may be a good lake effect day for western Dacs and parts of Franklin and St Lawrence county, especially the usual beneficiary, the Tug Hill area.

the NWS service forecast for LP has now dropped the rain mix and is all snow for Thursday - weather guys is our luck finally changing for the good?

there has been talk of finally a good pattern setting up - what do you guys think?

Aus, you might be right..models are a little cooler with this event. still it is minor , but snow is better than rain...and yes there might be light at the end of the tunnel..

LH is calling for 5-10 in the Sugarbush/MRG area

34 and snowing in Stony Creek (about 25 miles south east of Gore).  Maybe 1/2" accumulation.  Can't get excited about it, we've seen this all season.  We've had more dustings followed by rain and ice than we did my first 3 seasons combined up here.  I hope it amounts to something but I'm not holding my breath.  

Still snowing but unfortunately not amounting to anything.  What a tease this winter has been!

whiteface got bombed last night with 8 inches of snow, looks like it on the webcam also!
