10 for me and that's probably it. This is the most in nearly a decade when I became a family man entrenched in north jersey...so I'm happy with the season. Got to two new places (Mt Snow and Alta) which was huge. I really wanted to check out Platty based on what've I read on this site, but looks like that'll have be '19-20 goal given my upcoming calendar.

I lose count every year between 18 to 30ish. Two years ago I made it to 32 before everything turned into a blur. That was pretty good! This year, it got blurry shortly after 18 :D.
I’m somewhere around 55 to 60 I guesstimate. Any season I’m around 70 days is a good one imo. It was a damn good season. I managed to keep my schedule mostly open by only doing two 16 hour shifts a week but damn did that burn me out. Going mountain biking today and feeling content with the ski thing and ready for spring . |
I retired last spring and this year I'm a bit over 60 days. I'll get a few more in but after 60 days I kind of feel like I'm ready to move on. Maybe if I skied more half days like a lot of other retirees I'd be more into skiing extra days this season.

Sat last weekend out due to thaw freeze cycle. Heard some mixed reports ,had enough hard snow groomer skiing . There still is gonna be plenty of quality ski days available.
If it’s sunny and above freezing I will be out there. Gonna ski till Killington gets down to one trail.
Want to spend special time with your children, teach them to ski or snowboard. The reward will be endless!

I'm at 34 days, so even with no skiing over Christmas break, I should make my annual goal of 35 days.
No skiing today, but I'm sure to get one more day in to do the firewood for next year with a ski day at Killington. Will Gore make next weekend? Or maybe earn a day a Plattekill.

You should have hit Platty on the way back down today. Phenomenal closing day.

Laz said the same thing. it's not really practical especially without a roof box it means completely packing and unpacking the car twice in a day and putting the family through 7 hours of driving instead of 4 and 1/2.

Most days since High School. Coming from Suffolk County (and 3 hours to a decent hill) I am pretty happy to have gotten 14 days in. With one exception, truly an NY season:
1) Dec 16 - Hunter (rainy) 2) Jan 4 - Whiteface 3) Jan 5 - Whiteface 4) Jan 11 - Gore 5) Jan 12 - Gore 6) Jan 27 - Plattekill (for the first time--what a hill!) 7) Feb 2 - Jiminy Peak 8) Feb 3 - Gore 9) Feb 17 - Hunter (massive crowds/sheet of ice on new terrain) 10) Mar 3 - Belleayre (for the first time) 11) Mar 8 - Gore (46er/Hudson for first time) 12) Mar 23 - Belleayre (they said 18", I say it was more like 12") 13) Mar 29 - Whiteface (finally got on Skyward and Hoyts) 14) Apr 7 - Hunter (closing day, had to use up my 3-pack) |

Classic. Jiminy gets NY honorable mention too. Do we get any credit for getting you to Plattekill?

My annual goal is 30 ski days. The basement is 20 days. Sadly it rained hard over the holidays, so the 30 goal died, but the season was great with three Magic pow days and tons of snow in Arizona.

All your hype certainly didn't hurt. But I have been itching to try it for a couple of years based on this write-up: http://www.ultimate-ski.com/ski-resorts/usa/new-york/plattekill.aspx |
Here's my tally for 2018-19:
Killington: 36 Greek Peak: 5 Vail: 4 Beaver Creek: 4 Deer Valley: 3 Stratton: 2 Okemo: 2 Mount Snow: 1 Bromley: 1 TOTAL = 58 Overall, this was one of my best years in terms of skier days in a long time. |
