To be honest, Lifted (the movie about my home mountain Mission Ridge) turned out to be a bit of a disappointment for me. Too much song & dance... not enough about the history of the mountain.
I own it.. I'm not sure how to post it or If its legal... when I figure it out, I'll post it.
Found this one recently... a promo/doc on Fernie
Also love this one on Whitewater in BC
Any others? Not Warren Miller stuff or rock drop thrillers... but more like content about the history of our favorite ski areas.
Has any one produced a film about Whiteface? That seems like it would a great subject for a documentary film.
Would these videos about Cochran's in VT fit the concept? The NY Times video is more of a documentary while the VT video is a promo piece.

P.S. sorry, can't figure out what "code" to put between the nabble embed code.
Precisely... I love this one... never skied at Cochran's but drove by it a few times.
Not exactly a documentary, but gives an idea of the type of footage exists in the documentary that was made a while back. I learned about it at the museum near Mt. Greylock about the Thunderbolt trail. They keep trying to hold the race, but often have to cancel when there isn't enough snow. That's what happened in early March 2017.
When I was a kid CBS would show documentaries like this one of the 1960 Squaw Valley Olympics. I was like 8 years old and thought that some day I would like to ski Squaw Valley and the legendary KT22 trail.

^^^ Cool. Stumbled on this while watching that ^^^
Mammoth Mountain in Calif. is known for a long ski season because it is at a high altitude. The summit of their gondola is over 11,000 feet above sea level. I'd like to hit both Squaw Valley and Mammoth on a good snow year late in the season like late may.

Found a group of videos under the heading "ski videos 1950" on YouTube. A lot are from Europe.
This 25 min promo is really funny! Apparently Edelweiss Ski Resort was in the Sierra Nevada in California about a mile west of Sierra at Tahoe, near Camp Sacramento. There was a double chair with a mid-station. At the 8-min mark check out the beginner lesson. There is a demo of a "parallel Christy" by an instructor originally from Europe.
