Skiing under the Lights: Greek Peak 1/5/12

This post was updated on .
Four cold days of snowmaking with the help of Lake Ontario made all the difference.

Conditions were really nice and actually powdery in places, from both man-made and natural snow.

They opened Iliad and are blowing as much snow as they can.

It's nice being able to get off from work and go ski with friends for a few hours. I may go back tomorrow with Pam and Kel.

Shaman...I miss y'all up there...wanted to go up this weekend but none of my friends were up for it. Our posse is meeting at GP today with the masses. I may end up there on the upcoming holiday weekend. The big group is coming up the weekend following with a party at Dippikill Saturday night.

Camp, GP gets boring, but skiing at night after work is better than sitting at home watching TV and better than going to the gym. It is social and a nice way to get in some turns and a little exercise. Yes, it does get cold. I bought a down parka for those long cold lift rides.

Totally agree. My work days are at least 12hr days so my energy level is nil by the time I get out. However, if we're getting pounded w/LE I seem to find a little more spring in my step.

Our crew will B at GP tomorrow for first chair...I'll keep an eye out for ya

Was very nice April conditions today. Soft corn, slush and brown snow.

Best trails were Castor and Iliad...the two with the newest snow.

Fields and Trojan were looking rather sad with a lot of brown spots. Hope they can make some snow tonight, but it is still above freezing.
