Snoloco is a Boss

Highpeaksdrifter

He rules this forum. I’m not sayin that’s good or bad and I’m not being critical of Sno at all. I’m just sayin it’s surprising when you consider the demographic of this forum…adults…and an 18 year old kid sets the tone. How’d that happen?

Hey, I'll apologize to sno a bit, for fucking with him.

Absolutely this forum is a great site for information, and I've skied things, had experienced and met people I never would have otherwise.  So, as much of a fucking shill as Harv is , the site is invaluable for that.  Of course, another big draw for any IntraWebZ forum is the distraction/diversion factor.  Sno certainly ups the ante there!  And not in a completely bad way!!! Petite Homme has some good observations, along with some annoying habits (but don't we all?....well, most of us).  I applaud him for the thick skin and perseverance (more often than I loathe him for it )!!!

How'd that happen?  Shit, prolly 'cause we all miss some aspect of being 18, and If we had Scooby's wayback machine I bet each of us could find a little bit of Sno in our 18 year old selves, in the deep, dark places some of us might not want to explore!!!

I don't agree that snoloco sets the tone. I think it goes the other way. Snoloco started off on this forum as a whiny know-it-all, then got smacked down by reality (slightly), by the people on this board, and by an eye-opening trip out west.

The next smack down will come when he graduates and has to find a job, gets a mortgage, then has to go to that job every day for the next 30 years.

Snoloco is evolving as a person and we're one of many influences on him. He's playing in our gym, we're not playing in his.

Your answer may be in your question.  The willingness to get out of the box, irrespective of any experience and express his thoughts (however accurate, inaccurate or ridiculous) and maybe to deny that there's any box to begin with seems to be a trademark of youth.

I find that the mix of his research, thoughts, how he expresses them and the reaction it gets, is very entertaining.  He's the yang to a lot of others' ying.

Damn, Peabody, yo!  I knew someone had the Wayback!!

Yes, Scooby had the Mystery Machine, but not even that friggin contraption can solve the mystery of why Loco thinks that just because he says something it must be so!!

The alleged boss must be on vacation.  He's quiet these days.  It must suck now that everything is open.

And, shockingly, the discussion continues.

Almost as if he's not a boss at all, but just a random voice on the Internet, no more or less influential than the rest of us.

You don't "have" to do any of that. Some people look at that sort of lifestyle and compare it to a voluntary prison sentence.

If I had to go to the same job every day for 30 years I would off myself.

I think it's possible to find a job you enjoy. I know I will. I am already seeing the opportunities in front of me based to talking to graduates of my program at college. A mortgage is optional as well, although it's a good idea to get a place of your own at some point in life.  Things have always seemed to come pretty easily for Sno, and it seems to me like he is pretty responsible, and manages his time wisely, and he is on a good track to success.  He is a full time student at Clarkson which almost equates to having full time job. Yet, he still has plenty of time for skiing, and my perception of him is that he is a solid guy.

At some point he will have to earn his own money, yes, but I think he is going to do just fine.

I am currently in a very similar situation, and I have really enjoyed reading all he has to say on this forum as well as skiing with him this winter. It's been a Pleasure Snoloco.

Seems  like certain people on here enjoy flaming the guy for things just because he is different, and maybe has a few more opportunities at hand than the average kid.

Not sure who is more mature TBH. The adults or Snoloco.

He is probably studying. A conscientious student.

Unlike all you unemployed lazy adults who have time to post stupid shit on a ski forum making fun of a kid who is actually trying to make it in the real world.

I'm 19. How come nobody is flaming me?

I'm on lunch break.

Headed to class now.
