Snow Ridge or Star Wars Sunday which will Awaken!

Will be one or the other....no info on the SR website or elsewhere....by Sunday morning could be 2-3'....any rumors out there on which opening weekend will triumph!   No need to force a decision until Sunday morning.

Ummm, ski 3 ft of powder, or watch a movie? I must be f'n old, thank God. Seriously, they said they'd post Saturday night, early Sunday as to whether or not they'll open. I would think the Force is with Snow Ridge, watch the movie later.

Sorry for you guys - but it looks as though I'm going be skiing this Sunday.  

Their Facebook pictures as of today showing at least a foot so far.lukcy who ever make it Sunday have an excellent time.

SR facebook 10am Sunday opening, 20" on ground so far.

Shit. I was hoping they wouldn't open and I could skin for free with a few other people. Now I'll have to fight off the hordes.

FYI for those road tripping. Some roads are closed out that way.

Snow Ridge has Awoken!  Or, had awoken, as will be closed this week per FB.  Roads were clear sunday morning and at SR by 930, great day had by all.  Max line 15 mins seemed like 10 or less though, as used the time in line for Oxygen.  Officially 34.5 inches reported by NWS in C'ville but skied like 24.   That warm ground melting it quickly as it was much heavier than usual lake effect (more water content).   10 to 12 runs and found fresh untracked lines each run.  Amazing, maybe just because of the poor December to date, maybe just because it was awesome.  A- overall.  

We managed to pull off both! The family lapped Snowridge till 2pm then saw The Force Awakens for $6.00 a ticket at The Strand in Old Forge on our way back to North Creek.  Two other families in entire theater.  Best ski day for the foreseeable future.
