I always thought the advantage of Snowboarding was that you didn't have to carry goofy sticks around . . .

Yee gads. Never underestimate the ability for outdoor sports "entrepreneurs" to think up a reasonably priced product that nobody needs, and market it for a year or maybe two.
The only use I see for that is pushing off on flats.
Emergency room doctors near ski hills are now going to be witnessing and treating new injuries, caused by a plastic stick that was jammed into a brah's chest or face at high speed.

Although its very rare I have seen a few boarders using ski poles doing pretty much the same as this video shows, and they sure help getting past flats and they didn't need to sit or go to their knees when waiting for someone. Kind of makes sense to someone who doesn't board.

Benny is right. Looks like a great way for snowboarders to increase their level of upper body injuries. I can see many dislocated shoulders resulting from that thing.

Tele skiers have been using the long stick for years, it's called a "lurk."

For example:

TD can now take up snowboarding and use his discarded SUP paddles for snowshifting...

Years? Try a century or two.

Note how long his pole is in your picture. I just realized there's one good reason for that. He won't get poked in the face with it when things go bad.

Oh, and you know, in the never ending battle between skiers and boarders, this thing will be used as a weapon very soon. Call the lawyers.
