Yes - the astronomers say we are going into a deep and prolonged solar minimum - less radiation from the sun, colder weather. That combined with the reduction in polar ice means lots of snow. Future years could just be cold as the ice and glaciers return. Then we will come out of it as the next solar warm cycle begins. This deep minimum is supposed to last for 35 years.
