I know many of you hate Mountain Creek but, if there is a day to ski it then today would be it.

This is outside our friends window in Vernon just posted... I thought I would share. .

Also, you can find cheap tix on Craigslist - or excess cards. Funny thing is my wife said to bring our skis down from VT so, we can ski local this weekend but, we didn't factor in today!  So, now that might change.

Haha.. You are probably right.. We are just waiting for news if our friends kids party is cancelled to head out there. If not, maybe we will get some turns in at Thunder Ridge which is reporting 5 to 6 right now.  Our friends place is about 30 minutes from there.

Have not been there in 4 years.

This powder would also be "Pow approved" since it is on wide open trails.

Fresh snow at a city resort on a Saturday.  I wonder how long that took to get tracked out?

It was tracked out within 45 minutes.  Pretty crowded now.

My best picture from today.  Taken on Zero G.  That snowboarder is an instructor, it isn't me.

One person on the slopes and no one in the chairs, no way could that be Creekian Mount.

Peetex, this was one of my first runs at about 8:15am.  That lift pictured wasn't running, so of course there'd be no one on it.  We don't have as many dedicated skiers at MC, so less people come out for first chair on a powder day than further north.  There were only maybe 25-30 people in line for first gondola vs almost a full queue on a powder day at mountains further north.

Oh man, thanks for sharing the pic, Sno.

Happy to see the local bumps get some fresh.

Ray, I hope you didn't go the TR. It's really about the only ski area I can't say nice things about. Check out Peter or Sterling Forest on the other side of the river to compare, I prefer either. Or Mohawk if you don't mind a little extra time in the car. It's a great hill.

Hey ML242, I didn't got to the TR and we had to bail out of skiing on Saturday due to a birthday party we committed too weeks ago.  After getting there, the kids were begging to ski.

Mt. Peter and Tuxedo are very nice and earlier this year we did our first family trip to Mohawk. I think you might have seen our TR called Black Friday as we skied there that whole weekend.  The snow was great and the patrol let us jump lines to get in some early tracks but, the patrol guys had been hitting those runs too before us.  Still nice to have a run to yourself with good coverage.

Snoloco! That is a nice shot and do agree that the Creek has more boarders than skiers.. On a deep day, you can have most of the steeper stuff to yourself as people there have no clue how to ski or ride it when its deep and bumped over.

Thanks for posting the image!
