So who's brave enough to ski this weekend?

Adk Jeff
Conditions sound like they could be atrocious this weekend.  Here's Gore's report from today (struggling to just be open):

We apologize for a late opening today, due to overnight weather.  We are hoping to open sometime after 1pm today.  Even though we are in the midst of a record-setting December, we are very happy to be open daily!  Snowmakers have a much-improved forecast for the weekend will be pumping out the white stuff once again, as of Friday night.  Conditions are variable and terrain is for upper-level intermediates and experts only.

So who's taking one for the team and skiing anyway? As for me, I'll leave it up to the kids to make the call in the morning (wife already bailed) but I suspect we'll be up at Gore tomorrow for a few runs.

I'd consider it, but my skis have to go to the shop to fix the core shot I took at Whiteface on Wednesday...

Going for a hike on Saturday with the kids program I coach in.  We also plan to do some dry land skill development exercises.
We hope to be on snow on Sunday though.

I want to be the guy. I really do.. But I'm forced to work on Saturday and need to be at least somewhat available to my customers on Sunday; maybe Sunday... It's hard to justify the driving I would have to do for one or two trails with my brain at work. I burned my Gore punch on my Champlain valley ski card last week. I was hoping to save WF and MRG for Feb or early March but I'm still antsy. Need to think hard on this one.

I didn't go last weekend because it could only get better. I guess not. I have vacation Monday so will probably give it a shot then. Hopefully 48 hours of snowmaking will make it decent.

Looks like maybe Mount Snow again on Sunday.  It'll probably be crowded as heck, but less so than Killington.  Hopefully they'll open a couple more trails.

He's more likely to be at http://www.indoorskiusa.com/find. Its much safer

Plus he was geographically challenged posting pics of Woods Valley calling it SR. Also had problems with it's 'orientation and map reading

Going to see Star Wars tomorrow. Tentatively planning on Whiteface Sunday, but I'm not sure about it.

No spoiler here; I managed to see it Thursday.  You will probably really enjoy it.

looks like gore should have picked up a few inches of snow this morning from lake effect.  At least it will kind of look like winter for a day

I did. Best Star Wars movie ever. Nice to have some actors that aren't wooden and an actual good script.

Brought my kids last night. I agree. It's a good one, probably third best out of the whole series in my opinion

I see that you are learning that, in the end, it can always get worse, young man. Well played.

Don't count on those trials. From what I can see, you'll now be able to get back down to the lift without walking. It's a start.

Cool.  Mine are too young still.  I am debating whether Force Awakens is better than ROTJ.  For me, Empire is firmly the best; I am debating which gets second best.

This post was updated on .
I went to Mount Snow again.  Same terrain as last week, but with better snow, and the guns on.

Wasn't super crowded, Bubble Lift Line maybe 5 minutes tops.  The Canyon Express was running, but had no line, so I took it a bunch.  Run of the day was Canyon.
