The totality was cool, and way better than even a 99% eclipse. I didn't see the diamond ring or Bailey's Beads, or any stars, so it was a little disappointing. Probably the high thin clouds in Nebraska obscured all that, but the corona was cool. It was still worth driving 250 miles to see.
I'll probably head for Jay Peak or Stowe for the next one, but I think a dry desert would be the best place to see an eclipse. New England probably always has too much moisture in the air that diffuses the light of the corona and obscures the stars.
