Hmmm. That map does not jive with the Envt Canada forecast for Collingwood, which is calling for rain, rain, rain and temps above freezing. Think I'll stay home and wait for lake effect to kick in.
I was being sarcastic. The models are all over the map, I though it was funny that the highest amount of snow in this system would be in Collingwood and the top of the Daks.

October is running out of days. I need to get my gear ready.

Been thinking about this!

First time the winter storm track map has had a track for the east:

In prep for the season, and with a chance there may be something to look at this week...

The NY Webcams are back up on the weather page and home page.

I've skied natural snow in October 4 out of the last 6 seasons (soon to be 5/7!!!). It happens more often than it doesn't and the bad years don't correlate any more than chance might have it. Me? I'll take snow anytime. I don't believe in JuJu, just in white gold falling from the sky for my skis to slide on.

Bad juju?

October 15, 2009: Sunday River ME

October 18, 2010: Whiteface Toll Road

October 23, 2008: Massif QC

October 28-29, 2005: Wildcat NH

And on this day, October 25, back in 2006: Jay Peak VT

I didn't do a TR for October 2007. But it was manmade.

If this is bad, good must be out of this World. I'm like River...I'll take it when it falls.

I know there's no correlation between Oct snow and the amount of snow during the winter..It's fun getting everyone's panties in a bunch..

Picking up my new (used) GS skis tomorrow..

If only we would know...Jason?

Apparently is was snowing on WF (you can't believe everything you read on the internet). Snowguns are waiting or all ready blowing.

In my case, I have in one of 4 states/province for possible turns. I would like to narrow it down, but nothing is clear.

I still think the bulk of the snow will fall south. Southern Vt , Cats, Berks and maybe southern DAKs...
These areas could get 3-6 ichs. There might be higher totals in the higher terrain.. Of course this might change as the system develops..

Snowing in Lake George.  Switched to a rain/mix around 1pm.  Nothing sticking, temp on the porch is 36*.  Looking up French Mt, doesn't look like anythings sticking to the trees up top yet either..

Whiteface/Lake Placid cams showing nothing exciting..
The day begins...  Your mountain awaits.
