Storm Speculation: 2/25/11

This Friday's event falls on the anniversary of the Big One. What I called the "storm that saved March" last year.

From what I have been seeing coming from forecasters, there must be some significant model disagreement as forecasts are all over the place.

As of this morning it looks like NWS, and Josh at Mad River, are starting to favor a colder solution.

Opinions from any of our real weatherfolk? Jason, Suds, Noreaster....?

As of now system starts as mix to snow. Problem is it goes south, thus limiting the qpf.

This storm should be fine, it's the storm afterwards (tuesday) that could wreak real havoc on us. That one looks to be a monster rain event.

I'm gun shy after blowing the last one.  Jason nailed it early.  Beautiful Bluebird Day today...I think Jason enjoyed Gore.  This looks just like the last one that I thought was going to ride directly over us...and it went south.  Right now they are saying the transition line is between Albany and Glens Falls...this could be the nice wet dump we need...remember 6 inches of wet skis like 18 inches of dry and will really help the woods   My fingers are crossed

This one is going to be a nail bitter for Gore. If they can hold on 10-20 is a real possibility. Areas further north will have less of a chance of changing over. Looks like the main heavy precip will be from 12 noon through the afternoon with high winds on the backside.

Looking good. I'd be heading up now if I wasn't swamped with work

Daughter has to work at Gore but depending on the precip type, there is a possibility that dad will drop her and head to WF and pick her up on the way home.  Fingers are crossed for Gore but WF and Tupper will love this storm! I will repeat my Mantra(no Volkl pun intended) this will help the woods at Gore either way.  Heavy wet snow=great base

Just shoveled a path on my deck for the dogs to exit with. Looks like 6-7 inches.

We had close to 11" of pretty heavy slippery stuff in Saratoga.  Had a great ski at the local nature preserve, knocking snow off the bent over white pines.
