The freezing drizzle is perplexing. Would love to get Jason's or anyone's explanation as to why it seems to be happening at Whiteface, less so at Gore and not at all (from what I can tell, yet) in the Catskills.

NWS only has it in today's forecast (vs tonight) for WF.

What up?
I'm curious also. NWS also has it for Northern Vermont (Mount Ellen for example), where I hope to ski this week.

Looking to ski Plattekill Sun/Mon.

Quick tangent: I post mostly on DCSki/Epic and heard about this board via some of the WV Halloween TR's posted here a few years back. Heading up north for a quick trip, starting tomorrow.

Welcome, how far north you headed?
Don't ski the trees, ski the spaces between the trees.

Skiing MRG Wed-Fri. Maybe Magic on Saturday (provided it doesn't get too cold Fri night for my car. It''s getting up there a bit.) Hoping to hit Plattekill for the first time Sun-Mon. It sounds very similar to my home mountain, Timberline, WV.

But in the text wouldn't they be able to say rime?  The call was for freezing drizzle. Which is BTW what has shut our schools down again. This makes me think, right or wrong that's what it was.  We actually had a school bus accident yesterday, three hurt not sure how serious.

Thanks, but I think you may have me confused with JimK (Jim Kenney) who writes the feature articles for DCSki and EpicSki. I've skied with Jim a lot. I'm very active in the DCSki forums but no article for me.
