Yikes!

No Jason, not that.

I just saw some forecasted winds for the ADKs for Sat into Sun and if they are right there isn’t much chance of the new snow staying on the trails to be skied, if lifts even turn!

We can find that snow at Gore I think.

Is there enough of a base left in those woods to make chasing 6 inches of wind scattered pow into the trees a fruitful endeavor?

I can't think of one reason for that to be removed

Doesn't sound like much fun when you put it that way.

But, it seems that is the question this season in NY. Is there any ice left underneath that new snow?

I was hoping for more than 6 inches.

Correct me if I’m wrong but it looks to me like we can at least look forward to a good stretch of snowmaking weather next week. Even if this storm isn’t the perfect event we would like, there are reasons to be optimistic going forward

Looking at the maps on my phone
I would think 6+ is a possibility. Followed by a prolonged cold

The storm seems to be taking a poor track for us, especially if you're a Catskills skier.  I'm locked into Plattekill Saturday, but it looks like I need to ditch Sunday there and regroup someplace in the north on Monday, possibly Burke.  The cold on Monday should chase all of the tourists back home.

I have friends who are meeting up at Belleayre on Sat.  Does that make more sense than Plattekill?  Most haven't been to either and a few are intermediates.  All are staying overnight somewhere in the area on Fri night.

I’m headed to Gore for a few hours tomorrow. Got to get out of the house.

PT... could you report back on any natural snow on the ground, on BR or summit?  Hoping we are hanging on to some crust.

Sat into Sun Gore looks to be the snow winner (4-6), with lesser amounts (2-4) north and south.

Unfortunately, wind looks to be an issue everywhere.  I’m predicting wind holds at WF.

I don't think there will be wind issues on saturday..not sure how WF does with a SW wind..

I just flew in into LGA with the winds today..Now that was one sporty landing..

Skiing Saturday should be fine, winds come in with the snow Sat night into Sun.  Sunday would be the potential problem day for winds.

Jason, WF does well on a SW wind.  I like another 4 to 6 for both gore and face Saturday night

Whiteface picked up 6 with 5 at Gore, gore did slightly better than I expected and Whiteface is in line
