The Euro now has the lowest totals for most of ski country as it's trended west and south.  I'm inclined to trust that one given it has had this blizzard back when the GFS was calling for a bright, sunny, clear Friday.  Any way you slice it though, every mountain from the Poconos to Maine is getting some snow.

Can we get SOME snow?  Please?

18z NAM was almost a carbon copy of the 12z..If the GFS is the same , all bets are off..

I think he means that it may or may not snow. And if it does, it may or may not be big. I think.

I think you may or may not be right. And if you are, I think you got lucky. Pretty sure.

Except that snow in that part of the Hinterlands is about as useful as snow in Boston.

Basically, the 00z NAM has shifted Boston's snow to NYC's now.  Which is why it shows the entire state of NJ as BURIED.

I want to dismiss this, but the Euro has also trended slightly south and slightly west, which is a bit worse for ski country (other than Pokes and Cats).  The GFS should be out in just a few minutes, and it has been the most conservative with the snow, so we should have another key data point soon.

Jason why so pessimistic ?

12:59 Albany NWS : TOTAL SNOWFALL LOOKS BE AROUND A FOOT ACROSS THE GREATER CAPITAL
DISTRICT...14-24 INCHES SOUTH AND EAST (HIGHEST ACROSS LITCHFIELD
COUNTY) AND 8-12 INCHES NORTHEAST OF ALBANY

Latest models bringing storm closer to coast, may bump up totals beyond above per WNYT.

Lets turn that frown upside down :)

Re: Storm brewing in the Gulf

We came up to our house in Margaretville last night. Traffic was unusually heavy on the thruway. I got over to Belleayre this morning for a few runs and conditions without the storm were quite good. It was very foggy with 15 mph+ winds, 25F and light snow when I left at 1 pm. Local stations are calling for 1-3 today, around a foot tonight and 1-3 tomorrow a.m. They are ALWAYS on the conservative side (from past experience). If you ain't up here, get up here! It will be an Epic day tomorrow. cloudy with temps in the low teens when it stops tomorrow. I will post totals as I read them on my deck. Elev 1480' 8 mi south of Platty and 8 west of Belle.
