Summer Weather 2013

I was hopping to go camping this weekend with my daughter.

Why can't we ever seem to get a similar weather pattern on the east coast in winter. Can you imagine how much snow we"d have if this same amount of precip that fell the past 2 months was snow? We'd be skiing into August the following year.

The drive up NY-28 last night was very interesting. Lots of rain and more standing water than I would like. Going up the big hill on 28 just north of North Creek was eerily beautiful. It went from being bright and rainy to dark and stormy, just from the elevation change. The Hudson was ripping as much as I've ever seen it. At the lake, the water level is maybe 6 inches higher than normal. A far cry from last summer, that's for sure.

If this was a winter storm Jason would call BUST.

Supposed to rain for the last two days, but it has been beautiful.

Also looks like the front is moving through, and not getting hung up.

This created quite a fuss on it's way through.



Almost no fall color around North Creek. Seems like there are usually splashes by Sept 1.

Does this mean we start the fall weather thread?

I think frost in summer is awesome.

We made it down to 35 last night.  Even though it's been a little warmer than usual lately you can definitely feel fall in the air.  Warm (hot) and muggy, it doesn't matter, autumn is lingering just around the bend.  I LOVE IT!!!

It is nice to see  snow this time of year, but that snow fell on the Kunlun Shan Mts..average elevation is 20k feet
