As of this morning Hudson in NC is about 5' I've been told 8-10' is primo

Sure wish we could get a weather pattern like the past month in December in the form of snow. If that happened all the ski areas could go without much snowmaking for the rest of the season. And we could ski into May everywhere.

I saw some photos from an instructor I know that is from CNY that Swain had flash flooding yesterday.

20 years ago today. Major straight line wind storm across Adirondacks. 6 people died. Blowdown of serious extent took forever to clear some never cleared. The above radar looks shockingly similar.

I think that blowdown took out some sweet old growth in the Five Ponds Wilderness.  I'd heard some parts of the western adk are still unhike-able.

Well we kind of skated this summer, it was pretty cool.  I'm ready for the traditional post Labor Day cooldown. And some rain. Please.

Yes. Bring the rain or we'll have no fall colors. The Hudson is extremely bony.

I live on a dirt road. It's been a dust bowl.

Some welcome relief for us in the flats at least.

I was reading an article in Post Star yesterday regarding a fire that's burning on Tonge Mountain on Lake George.  They said that for many trees it's too late for rain to give them a good chance at foliage.

Stinks!

Finally some rain.

It's a bit warm, but there will be a normal amount of precipt.

For total shits and giggles the 348hr GFS ( Which will be wrong) has flurries for the ADKs...

Long term, still looks very warm...
