Support NY Dairy Farmers

campgottagopee
CNY is full of dairy farms and I try to support them the best I can.

One thing all of us can do is at least buy from a NY farm. All milk has a code, any code starting with 36 is from a NY farmer

Farmers are getting crushed with milk prices.  I really don't see how they can afford to keep going with the price they are getting.

I'd do it.

What do the other numbers on the bottle mean?

I believe it marks the actually dairy from which the milk is produced.

A customer of ours told me of this today ---- he's a farmer

I always try and buy Byrne Dairy milk as they have a plant here in town and buy bulk milk from local farmers.

I think Stewart's Milk is supplied by local dairies, I buy all my milk & ice cream there. \
By the way - my wife and daughter came up with a new slogan "Ice Cream Matters", it comes in all colors and flavors...

Even down here in NJ, our Costcos carry Byrne Dairy products.

Growing up in the 70s, I remember our mayor in Camillus was also the Dairylea milkman who left fresh bottles in a milkbox on the front porch.

The first house I ever lived in as a kid was right across the street from a dairy farm. We would get milk in a milk can,, I can remember my mom scraping the cream off the top before giving us a glass. Could get it any fresher than that.

I lived across from a dairy farm as a kid myself- kindergarten through 4th grade. I don't think we ever drank unhomogenized milk though. Woke with a stray cow eating out front lawn a few times. Those cows looked as big as dinosaurs to me back then. I had a friend that would run into the middle of them yelling his head off to get them to move. He got a real kick out of making them run. I thought he was crazy.

I told my doctor that when I drink milk it makes me shit - badly...
He was like - "dude you still drink milk?  What are you 5?"

I don't drink it now..I'm not against it..  It just makes me shit...
I use the almond stuff...  It works...

I was about 13 and over at some kid's place in Vermont, on a farm.  The kid said, "the milkman's here."  Next thing I know, there's a tanker truck pulling in the driveway to pick up the milk from their farm.  It was a far cry from a few years earlier when we lived in the city and had it brought to our door.
Sent from the driver's seat of my car while in motion.
