TGR article about Lake Placid

It is titled a "Local's Guide to Lake Placid." Since I haven't been there for many years, I am in no position to comment but am curious to read the opinions of those who really are locals:

I don't spend much time in Placid, either, but they have a shout out to BETA and the brew pub, so it's alright on my books.

The BETA mention is awesome!  the rest is all the major tourist traps.  Hiking Marcy, riding ironman loop?

Not impressed with this story.  They mention biathlon without saying where you go to shoot.  And ski xc.  Then they talk about mountain biking at van Ho.  Shameful.

Pretty mainstream generic article. They only mention of trails on WF gets one of 3 trails and locations wrong, refering to "Riva Ridge" as a scenic cruiser from the top of the Gondola. Its a stretch to even consider it a trail as its really just a flat stretch about 200' long at the top of the Summit Chair. But all in all its always good to get free PR for the Adirondacks.

The title definitely doesn't fit with the article. I'm not even a local and I know that much.
