I don't usually do trip reports, but this weekend was so fun, I cannot resist. I was recently invited on a hut trip in the Adirondacks. If you do any slide skiing in the Adirondacks, you know that there's often a long approach involved, and the days can be long. So, having a hut 3.5 miles in really makes day missions much more enjoyable.
A trip in the Adirondacks is truly adventure skiing. Exploring drainages, navigating creeks and slides. And as with any good Adirondack adventure - some bushwhacking too! We were graced with lots of soft snow, though we got all sorts of sporting conditions. Wind affected snow, some crust, and ice bulges all added to the excitement and adventure. Here are a few pictures and videos of the weekend. Great mountains, great snow, great food, and great friends...all in all...I'd say pretty great!
