Ha, you are too kind, Snowballs. I keep trying to convince TD to shot some video with the thing, but he is strangely reluctant.

Late Arvo session at my local.  This time I set up the GoPro at the top and skied down.  Later, further on along the ridge in a nice low angle natural glade I set up the camera in a tree half way down the slope.  Skied two nice lines right under it, but must have not turned it on (or pushed the start twice...) - so no woodsie shots.

Cool idea.

Looks like a nice glade.

Thanks Harv. I sure wish I hadn't JONGed up the GoPro when I set it up  in a tree.  I'm going back tomorrow to give it another go.

Nice!  Good work... BTW, there's a very light crust here in Muskoka too...again, from the same time. Not enough to feel except in open or sun affected slopes.  I was actually hoping for a bit more to add to pics, nothing like blowing up some crust as you ski...though the face shots could be a pain...

I did the pics myself, solo mission.  Stuck the GoPro stick in the snow and skied... Waaay better than  a chest mount or headmount.  And using a selfie stick in the woods isn't a win win scenario.

Stay tuned to this thread for another episode of The March Sessions...while SBR heads to Monkey Center VT to attempt to salvage a semblance of amortization of his Jay season pass, I'm heading back out into my local backbush.  Twice the lines to ski without SBR in tow...

Sorry Sig, GTA = Greater Toronto Area... This is the Hinterland thread, Harvey humours  us Ontario people by allowing us to hang out on the New York Blog forum..

SBR and I are from the central Ontario area known as Muskoka.  We feel we have more in common with the upstate NY ADK skiing community than we do with the rest of our province - with the exception of decent vertical..

Post here whenever you want Chuuurles, as far as the locals here are concerned you're a Hinterlandian too.  Just make sure you use proper spelling - eg: colour, not color!

More March Sessions.  I felt compelled to get out again today ahead of the warmer weather forecast for the weekend, which will end our two month streak of below freezing temps and consistent powder snow..

Anyway, headed back up Buffalo Ridge, and continued on towards Natty Glade.

Set up the GoPro in a tree aiming up the hill.  Then skied down to it.  (I tied a red base layer to the tree, all the Oaks in the glade looked the same from the top!

And so on...

Etc etc

...found it!

Then I skied lots more...

You can see in the last pic that the snow here has already transformed into sugary crystals.. Spring corn is on its way...

Really nice Dave - looks like we will have a lot of spring corn if it doesn't get too warm too quick.
That go-pro of yours really takes some nice clear pics.
Don't ski the trees, ski the spaces between the trees.

Thanks PeeTex.  Yup.  Lots of night time refreezing after an above zero (sorry, 32 for you Excited States folk) makes for great corn and lots of sap for Maple sugar season... Win win.
And yes, the GoPro sure beats using my iPhone .. Next step will be some videography - I've been using it for stills (1/2 second time lapse).  I end up with some pretty nice pics, but there's a ton of chaff to separate from the wheat...lol.
