The terrain and conditions in your photos look spectacular . Hope you don't mind me asking but are your backcountry tours accessed from the top of Snowbowl lifts?
I don't mind at all. Generally speaking, yes. I have a seasons pass so I usually ride the Ag chair up to get into the back country but sometimes it can be on hold so we have entered from lower points such as the Humphrey's chair or even right from the parking lot. Access changes depending on conditions but there's always a way, we have an open boundary policy but during really big events patrol and the Sheriffs department will close the back country. They don't actually patrol or enforce those orders though so.......well you can probably guess how we feel about that anyways.
the terrain is pretty good but conditions change rapidly. We get a lot of wind and the sun is very powerful here. The shit winds came in yesterday and destroyed most of that beautiful powder we were skiing the day before that. Upper mountain in bounds was really good this morning since the big chair was closed that day the upper area got wind buffed.
It's a great, attitude free locals sort of place. It gets crazy during the holidays and on weekends but midweek is real quiet.
Maybe I'll put up a back country guide in here pretty soon. I sort of have it all mapped out on google earth images.
