The family that films together

Skiray
First, I want to say thanks to you for even watching our work and believing in what we do. You have all pushed us to get better. Certainly you all have been big advocates for us, though the winner for boosting our ego has been @RaisingArizona, who after all these years, I feel like we are more related than virtual friends. The feedback we get from RaisingArizona, a great skier and filmmaker, has been short of mind exploding.

This group has enabled us to want to get better and has helped us with our mission ; we hope that this will continue for the foreseeable future. We also hope that our children will carry on this legacy.. Who am I kidding ;) - they already want to hide behind something instead of being recorded (we know @BrownSki can relate). Actually our kids are OK with it (so far).

As some of you may know and have seen, a story was written about us in this year's holiday issue of VT Ski and Ride, The story blew our expectations and we are deeply humbled by it. We hope you can read it, maybe share it with friends and ask them to like our social media pages and or YouTube channel. It really helps us, believe it or not.

Having 2 articles written on us in less than 6 months, to be featured in Pico's My Pico series along with people like Karl Acker and Peggy Shinn and to have our latest video on Burke Mountain (Resilience) go sort of viral on Facebook, well we are just floored. Then to pick up a bar sponsor (friend's company) and XEVO as our optics sponsor in less than 2 weeks, we are not sure what to expect next.

We know we owe some of you a ski day. If budgets allow, we will do our best to meet with you. Yes, we are still paying for our own lift tickets and for the time being, we can't quit our day jobs. Who knows what cards are in store for us in the future though, if we can make a living being ski bums for a couple of years, I know we are all game.

Thank you all again and Merry Merry, Happy Happy to all of you. The Alba Adventures

Dude, reach out to this site, all about family skiing, to see if they'll post your vids.

Hey Bumps,

Thanks for the feedback. We know Kristin and have been following her for a few years. We are actually now NASJA members and Kristin has been following us, on Twitter at least, for about 3 years now. We don't have a huge following on Twitter - still trying to make sense of that.  She has retweeted some of our work before and NASJA even reposted it. The blogs help though we are finding that agencies are finding us which has been great.  Kristin and the NASJA people are really great people and the Association has so much to offer. Thing is, we work full time and are full time parents, so getting to their events is short of impossible. We hope to make their next gathering and to finally meet Kristin.

Thanks again - big time.

It’s been fun seeing you grow Ray, you’re family too but as a film maker/editor you really have gained some skills man. You got something there.

When I mentioned finding a story other than family ski trips, well I hope that didn’t come across wrongly. The family trips are great. Your editing is top notch and I love your wife’s narration and voice.

I had an English professor years back that said something that stuck with me. She said the best writers are the ones that are familiar with struggle. I think for story telling the same holds true. Not that the teller necessarily has to talk about their own struggles but a story with an element of struggle can really pack a punch and I’d be super excited to see you find a story like that and do a film on it. Jus sayin.

Thanks for the kind words! Cheers!
