The last 24 hrs have been fantastic!

Snowhunter
Not only did I finally get a job yesterday afternoon (after being out of work for a very long time) but this morning I also got in my 30th day of skiing for the season (a new personal record).  I know that I've been cranky and complaining on here a bit this year (the job situation and lack of snow were the main root causes) but today's one of those days that I realize that I have a lot to be thankful for and it's better to be happy and have fun than to bitch and moan.  I hope everyone else is having a great day too!  Sorry for the personal post but I felt the urge to share.

A sure sign of the economy improving and just in time, with the ski season coming to a close!  Congrats!

At this point I will welcome it!

Thanks all!!!  Skiing has been my one great escape for the worries and upset of unemployment but even then I'd be saddled with a feeling of guilt if I was out there instead of looking for work (even though I searched constantly).  Now I can hit the slopes with a clear head.  It's a great feeling!

Thanks!!!  Actually I think I can AND more!  The job is seasonal:  April-December (with good earnings potential during that time).  Leaves me a nice window of opportunity, don't ya think?

congrats on the days and the job (in that order)  my wife was out of work over the winter and ended up instructing/dispatching at our local hill. mrs snobunski got alot of days in and is loving the life of a semi ski bum. unfortunately that gig is coming to an end soon and while thankful for the winter theres alot of apprehension and anxiety about finding a "real" job - she loved working with people vs spreadsheets (financial analyst) and we're trying to figure out to make that happen

Once again, thank you all!

Ausable skier, thanks!, yeah, only 30 days in and I'm only 25 miles from Gore.  As much of a blessing as that is, so are my three little ones and my wonderful better half.  With them, even unemployed I have many responsibilities and I've had the joy of finally getting 3 of the 4 of them out there with me (with the youngest joining us next season).  That combined with the very crappy season we've had and trying to dedicate funds to necessary and more important things (responsibility sucks!  But I wouldn't trade them for anything!)............That said, 100 days sounds SWEET!!!!, and it's still a dream of mine!

Thank you sooooo much for the kind words!!!!

Yes it is!  And yes I am (and I am forever thankful that I am!).

50 days is like the Holy Grail to me and yes I will be shooting for it!!!  (After hitting Killington this past October I thought 50 was a given this year.....didn't know that we'd have the winter from hell!)
