Very race centric list, but Killy and Stein proved they were just plain cool overall skiers, especially Stein. A lot of racers, especially modern guys, are specialists in their craft, and barely leave the course. I had read once that Girardelli would not even attempt bumps - hated them. One wonders how some modern racers ski powder, considering their life training constantly on ice since, like, 12 years old.
Plake deserves to be on that list, big time.
I once skied behind Stein at Deer Valley for awhile. His hair was perfect, and stayed that way. Damn, that guy has style.
