You can tuck all the way down one of the North Side trails when they are hard packed and no matter what, you will loose all your speed and have one long skate down to the Ski Bowl. I always try to go through Barkeater now to get to the Ski Bowl, but it isn't always open. At least with the Lower Cloud Traverse you can avoid it by taking the Topridge Triple and you can make it through by tucking on Cloud. On Burnt Ridge, you can cross over from Twister (as long as the racers haven't claimed it) to Echo and tuck all the way down and make it to the BRQ without loosing speed. However, when the Racer's take Twister, there is no way to Burnt Ridge without walking or poling. It is not that I can't physically do these traverses, it is the fact that it is incredibly annoying to waste your time on long flat trails that are rated as blues and require you to push with your poles to ski.
