I thought they took the cars off that gondola every night, meaning that she definitely would've made it to the bottom. That lift is top drive, and I believe there has to be someone at the drive terminal to start up and shut down the lift for the day, so you'd think someone would've had to see her get on. They probably don't have a way to rope off the loading area at the top and tell people not to get on though.
