Trapped in the Gondola, Get a Good Lawyer

This story is not new apparently but I didn't know about it:

Comments in facebook were all over the map, for and against.

Simple solution for K, don't offer the service.  Or shut it down an hour before the lifts close.

Stupid on Killingtons part - but the award is ridiculous.

No excuse to make sure everyone's off the gondi but 750K --- that's just silly. PTSD, nuts!

When I was over at K in Dec a guy on the Gondi was telling me about this.  Apparently this women got into the Gondi after walking up the stairway late after closing and as they had already done last lap the staff was not there when she did.  

Word is this women was a bit of a known nut job well before this indecent to the locals

I thought they took the cars off that gondola every night, meaning that she definitely would've made it to the bottom.  That lift is top drive, and I believe there has to be someone at the drive terminal to start up and shut down the lift for the day, so you'd think someone would've had to see her get on.  They probably don't have a way to rope off the loading area at the top and tell people not to get on though.

They do normally put them all in the shed. Seems like a break from routine may have been a contributing factor. It's possible that article got some details wrong
