Maybe the steepest pitches on Hillman's are 40* but average grade top to bottom is much less than that. I guess it depends where you start and end your measurement. The bottom 1/3 of Hillman's is really mellow.
I enjoyed some Highway action on Sunday and it was quite nice. The real Highway was the TRT in the morning, whoa. And I got there "early" (I define an early start in April on a weekend as early enough to get a spot in the main lot). I can't imagine the traffic that followed me up! Corn was well past prime when I skied it but still really nice.
If you liked Hillman's then you'll love GOS. Pitch is similar but less steep at the top (not that Hillman's is steep), runs are a bit shorter, not as much rock on the sides of the main gullies. But a lot less action and traffic and similar feel. I've never skied the bowl in April on a weekend. Hillman's and GOS are much more my pace when traffic is high.
Almost went GOS yesterday but Hillman's to the Sherbie may have been the longest ski run available in all of eastern North America yesterday so I couldn't resist going for uninterrupted vert and less up/down hiking.
