Upstate Ski Swaps and Sales!!!

Anyone know of any upcoming ski swaps or sales in the Albany/Saratoga/Lake George region?  Or is that something too old fashioned because of Craigslist.  Any information would be appreciated.  Need to outfit the whole family for the winter.  Thanks….

Willard Mountain does a pretty big one that is well attended.  There is the Albany Ski and Snowboard Expo at the Empire State Plaza.  http://www.albanyskiandsnowboardexpo.com/asse/.  I usually end up buying something at this show every year (its 100' from my office, kind of like a crack store across from a crackhead).  Avoid Alpine Haus, they only have new stuff and very little deals.  The other shops there tend to bring more back/old stock and are willing to make deals.  You might see west do a ski swap, you never know what they will do anymore.  If you have young kids, look at seasonal rentals.  Most shops offer them for a hundred bucks or so.  Also, check out some of the local shops right now.  Sports page is still in summer mode so they have a back room with some pretty decent deals.

I think West Patrol has one every fall. Can't remember zactly when but they always do...sometimes big, sometimes small. Fall Festival at Gore usually has Pete and Beaver Brook with some deals and Schuss from Rome with stuff as well. Usually there's used gear and demos there and rentals, etc.

Alpine shop in Saratoga opens next Thursday (21st) with our annual summer sale.

Hi - i do not know of any ski swaps.  But i would like to congratulate you on the fabulous upgrade you have done to the old val house.  What an improvement, nicely done.  I have a house a couple of miles down the road.  Thanks for upgrading the neighborhood !  Doug
