Vanderwalker Wild Forest 2/21/12

Well I have been waiting for the right conditions, but who the hell knows when that will be, so Freakie Zekie and I embarked a tour of the Vanderwalker Wild Forest otherwise known as another back side of Gore.

With the 2-3" of fresh that fell last night and temps climbing through the 30's, the warm sun made for excellent climbing, albeit with an occasional base glob helping the climb.

As much as I love to rip down, there is just something incredible about zippin through the woods with just my dog

Those photos take me back to my well spent youth.  That's my neighborhood!

As for the reservoir... might as well drain that sucker dry at the end. We'll have a long time to fill er up.

recognize that "DARKSIDE tree"

I totally miss skiing in the woods with my dogs. This snowless winter here in CNY is killin me. I can't believe I haven't skied on my woodland trails this year. Last year I xc skied nearly 60 days! This year 3x on my lawn and 2x at Tug Hill.

Sposed to snow a little this week up north. I am thinking about bringing my xc skis in hopes of taking the dogs for a jaunt in the hills of So Johnsburg.
