Enjoyed the tree skiing too, as well as the artic ocean trip.
Saw it in Stamford CT and there was a really big turnout from Gore - their giveaways and promo people were running neck and neck with Sugarbush. That was good to see. It's a nice way to mark the turn of the season but I sure wish there were some other ski porn options here on the east coast, ike Powderwhores or Sherpas Cinema. And to state the obvious, as a telemark leftie I can't hold it in: Warren Miller is basically a huge marketing event for wasteful ski tourism - big sponsor this year seemed to be the Canyons, and everything else they promoted involved jet fuel, race cars, heli fuel, faux ski-villages and condos. Fine,it is what it is - but their "pro snow" "climate reality" greenwashing pitch is weak. It would also be nice if they gave some screentime to local low-glam ski hills or any sort of lower-impact skiing. I remember in years past there would be some love for little places with rope tows, etc. I know industrial ski tourism is what really supports Warren Miller (and its corporate owner, Bonnier Corp., publisher of Ski magazine) afloat, but the cognitive dissonance was overwhelming, seeing the on-stage hucksters preaching to save the planet was a little much. |

^^^you do know warren miller the man is not warren miller entertainment right? WME is all corporate owned which is why it has become an advertising fiasco.
as far as the movie goes, i havent been a WME fan for awhile now. the movies are too long, all the shots are the same, nothing really to get excited about. |
I couldn't care less about WME, and the movies themselves don't excite me. I'll be there for the vouchers. Sugarbush, Gore, and Windham for $18 can't be beat.

Eleven dollars got us a subscription to ski mag and early late season ticket to Elk Mt. Strange thing about the movie going crowd, it appeared over half audience looked like non skiers.

Did they look like A-holes?...snowboarders, perhaps? No offense to anyone, my Son is a boarder... I stand my ground. Was the Elk pass in conjunction with the Ski Mag subscription? I'd be interested in that if it's available in Binghamton. |

not quite sure what a "skier" looks like my wife was sayin "oh look there's 'so and so' ", i'm like "who? oh yea yellow jacket and fire arrows guy"
I enjoyed the swiss tree & village shots, the sailing expedition, & 10th mountain segments. was dissapointed they went to kaprun/seelum zee and showed nothing, alaska is alaska, and the cheeesy prodcut placements are to be expected from wme. the elk vouchers, pre show mexican and pre/post show beers were da bomb! gunny were you at nccc? we were at saturday nights show |

The advertising fiasco aspect of this is why the lift ticket vouchers make it worthwhile seeing the movie - it's a little hard to take, but I'll take it! (And it screened two blocks from work, so it's an easy score.)
As for the corporate ownership, it's under joint ownership with Ski Magazine - my go-to source for the freshest sushi in Aspen and decorating tips for my third home in Deer Valley. |

Saw the show at Northampton College in Bethlehem Sat night. Ski pass and mag subscr included Cornhead.
Non skiers mean overweight out of shape people who can't bend over let alone ski or board

I get down the hill O.K. ... for a fatty Cool, hope I've got an Elk pass coming my way. Got four days at Elk last year, they had more snow than Greek. Same distance from home for me, 37 miles.

we were there with some friends and kids. my neck of the woods, if youre ever down in the lehigh valley or hittig blue give a shout! the ice house in bethlehem used to host stoketoberfest featuring msp and meatheads releases complete with elk vouchers as well but they moved it to sno mt this year http://www.snomtn.com/index.php/stoketoberfest/ i enjoy both much more than wme, bummed they moved it but gonna head up and check it out |
Just got back from seeing (and MC-ing) Flow State in our humble burg. It definitely is one of the better WME flicks, great editing, cool music, awesome skiing and something for everyone. We had a really wide range of folks in the audience, from little kids to seniors, and everyone seemed to enjoy it. Say what you want about WME but they do provide good, clean ski stoke for the whole family. There is a great kid skiing segment, a nicely done tribute to the 10th Mountain Division (which, if I am not mistaken, has some history at Ft, Drum in NY, though this was not mentioned). The Japan segment was fantastic and some parts me think of Jay glades. If anything, there was too much Alaska skiing. It may seem like an an odd criticism but they could have spread it around a bit more. Oh well, first world problems!

I liked the 10th mountain division segment, but it could have been better. I dunno. Is the movie release season over? I'd like to see the Meatheads release, but I'd also like to just go skiing.

Saw it last night in NYC.
Agree the vouchers are the main reason I'm there, though it has become a pre-season tradition for me over the years as well. I dont care about all the advertising, you watch any Hollywood movie and there's plenty of that as well, even if you're not paying attention for it. What was annoying was being lectured to about Global Warming. Please keep the politics out of my ski movies please, that is all. As for the vouchers, couldnt have been better 1) Gore free lift ticket (non-holiday) 2) Jiminy Peak BOGO 3) Sugarbush M-F Better yet, some guy traded us his free Gore tix for our Jiminy BOGOs = SWEET!!! So I ended up with 2 Gore lift tickets and a Sugarbush lift ticket for the $22 cost of the movie, cant beat it.
Can we get SOME snow? Please?
