I read it, want to believe it, really do! But..... its an outlier, this is the likely scenario for the weekend from the NWS Albany:
"12Z GFS AND EVEN GFS ENSEMBLES TAKE A WAVE THAT FORMS ALONG THE STALLED OUT FRONT TO OUR SOUTH WELL SOUTH OF OUR REGION WITH NO PRECIPITATION (PERHAPS NO CLOUDS FROM IT) THURSDAY NIGHT INTO FRIDAY. ..... MOST OF GUIDANCE SUITES CONTINUE TO KEEP IT DRY THROUGH MONDAY. ...... BY MONDAY INTO TUESDAY...THE EUROPEAN CONTINUES TO INDICATE A POSSIBLE SYSTEM BRINGING SOME PRECIPITATION INTO THE REGION. HOWEVER IT IS NOT A WELL DEFINED LOW...BUT RATHER MORE OF A FRONTAL PASSAGE. THE THERMAL PROFILE LOOKS MARGINAL FOR EITHER RAIN OR SNOW. FOR NOW...WE WILL CONTINUE TO CARRY SMALL CHANCES OF MIXED PRECIPITATION." Sorry :( But, as my father in law always says "good! they forecast rain, so that means it will be sunny!' |

The good pattern the models showed in FEB last week has completly flipped back to what we have been seeing all winter :( Sustained cold and snow is just not happening this year.

If only I could actually have faith in Accuweather, but they've been overly snowptimistic all season...
![]() I think I'll stick with Darren since he's been the closest to spot on all winter. Time to finally invest in that bike I've been dreaming about... |
that pattern looks pretty bad!
