They've been doing this for at least two years that I know of. Wish Gore would open up to ATVs in the summer.

And this.  My wife and I registered a month or two ago.  I've been a runner for a long time, but I've never done a race like this.

Also note that there's a family / kid's version of the race the next day, benefiting the Children's Museum of Saratoga Springs.  Our kids will do that.  My money's on our 3-yr-old, Sylvie.

I gotta give West Mtn owner Mike Barbone  credit. He's added downhill biking, beach volleyball, snowmobile races, warrior run and who knows what else to the Mtn's repertoire. The man is definitely proactive and willing to try new business ideas.

Here's another such foot race. It's cool the way people are putting these things together. Obstacle courses are fun.

And along those lines, plans for a zip line and mountain coaster this summer have been announced.

From the Times-Union yesterday.  Looks like nearly 2000 runners will participate in the West Mountain Warrior Run this weekend, an impressive number for a first-time event.  The article gives a good flavor of this type of event.  I'll be running on Saturday for my first-ever in this type of event (Beth too), anybody else?
