What a great place to live!

Z
Lots of negativity going on in some of the other threads.  I had dinner last night at LPBP.  Sat next to RonKon at the bar and we had a great conversation on what a great place to live this is and how lucky we are.

Seems like a happier thread to discuss.  Ron was saying he is probably going to be skiing soon.

When I walked outside there were fireworks for some convention going on in town.

Yes indeed Coach.  Today, was a fine day to be alive.  The wild fires have been contained, the air is clear, and hopefully, there will be snow in the mountains soon.

Shot this on today's ride:

The backdrop is the Rocky Reach Dam.  A publicly owned facility that provides the cheapest electricity in the nation, for the communities that own it (the residents of Chelan and Douglas county).  A fine example of Socialistic Success in our community!!

Couldn't agree with you more Coach.  Saratoga's a great place to live and I'd love living in Placid too.

We are building home in Saratoga, I think you will absolutely love it here.  There is a unique blend of  culture, walkability  and proximity to recreation.  The only downside is the cost of housing in a location that you can walk to downtown.

What elitist, rich, white person wouldn't love living in Lake Placid or Saratoga?

No crime, no poverty, no racial diversity, no industry... no clue?

But yet they still bitch about how taxes are too high and the country is going to hell in a handbasket because we had a half black, Muslim president!

So what do you do up there in LP?  Make Olympic athletes?  A couple canoes?  Mediocre craft beer?  Spend NYS tax payers money on ski resorts?  Wow!  Sounds like the life.  God forbid anyone had an education or affordable health care.

How would you feel if you lived in Speculator or Gloversville?

I love Speculator too - where there are more for sale signs than people.

In August, we drove through there and on through Lake Pleasant. We were surprised that everything seemed to be for sale. I swear, every other lake front cabin had a sign on it.

For Sale signs are like fall leaves in the ADKs they spring up abouy mid August. Best to show and sell your property before it goes to winter close up. Looks and smells nicer in fall the early spring.
