What to do around Cooperstown other then baseball?

Brownski
Got a whole week in Cooperstown coming up. At least one game of youth baseball to watch each day and of course I’ll drag myself through the HOF again. I’ve got some other ideas but thought some of the CNY peeps here might have a suggestion I haven’t thought of. Cherry Valley, Roseboom, Oneonta.... what’s cool out there nowadays?

We spent a long weekend there last fall. We did this ----  https://www.cooperstownbeveragetrail.com/  some really cool places along this route.

For dinner I'd recommend Mel's at 22 ---- https://www.melsat22.com/     great food, fun people, and cool building. We enjoyed ourselves there so much the first night we went back there the second night for dinner as well.

Those are good recommendations. Thanks. Ommegang and Mel’s are probably a lock. The music looks good but I’m gonna have to sell that to the rest of the group probably...

We hit Ommegang but to be honest it was our least favorite brewery. As you would expect it's very commercialized and somewhat fancy pants kinda place. Red Shed Brewery (just past Ommegang on opposite side of the road) was totally bangin'. Lots of fun peeps, outside fires going, and great music.

Camp
Should I hit Red shed on Cooperstown or in cherry valley? I have to admit I’m kind of intrigued by the $10 pretzel on their menu.

The only one we went to was the one in Cooperstown. It was a fun place. Being your biz you might enjoy this place as well. As you can imagine it's all baseball themed.

I like Ommegang, especially the Rare Vos, but ya kinda have to like Belgian Beer. I didn't find it to be too commercial.

Skip the "Cooperstown Brewery". That beer wasn't too good.

Brook's BBQ in Oneonta, obviously. Nice mtb trails behind the high school, too.

Thanks for the reminder about Brooks. I’ve been meaning to check that place out

There’s a lot of drinking to do in Cooperstown

My wife got sucked in by the packaging when she was buying souvenirs. Not bad

Tried to rent a kayak on Otsego Lake but apparently they don’t show up for work at the kayak places if it’s overcast or rainy.
