Where to ski tomorrow??? (Lake George based)

Snowhunter
I live 20 miles or so from Lake George, about 25 from Gore.  I want to hit the slopes tomorrow but I don't know where to go.  I go to Gore all the time and I'm planning on Whiteface Saturday, Gore on Sunday and Mad River Glen on Tuesday.  I want to hit someplace different tomorrow.  Any suggestions?

Killington.  If distance is a factor.

If not, Jay Peak.

Thanks for the suggestions.  Considering both.  Killington would be the more likely choice.  I'd kind of like something a bit "different" withing 2 1/2 to 3 hrs but with conditions the way they are I'm not that picky.  My only reason for avoiding Killington is that I've already been there this year.

Jay is a hoof....is it worth a day trip even with the piss poor conditions we've had???

How far to Sugarbush?

I figured Kmart was close and precip will stay snow up top there for a while longer than other places as close. Maybe sit out tomorrow and then head as far up he green spine as you can on Sat.

I would add  possibly not going all the way up. Lamoille area seems to have a better base

^ Listen to skimore. I'm armchair quarterbacking, he's actually been skiing.  Been seeing some nice TRs from Smuggs on TGR too.

I don't doubt you but is there any chance of that being wrong???  It was supposed to be sleet and all ice here hours ago and it's nothing but snow.  Do I have a prayer or should I just sleep in?

Thanks.  The more I look, the more it looks like that's the case everywhere within driving distance.  Looks like I should save the gas.  I appreciate the feedback.  Bummer.

Snowhunter-

I skied Gore today and it was remarkably good, the snowmakers and groomers pulled another rabbit out of their hat after Monday rain/Tuesday freeze.  Gore will probably pick of tworeeish inches before it changes to sleet and fffingR tonight.  Tomorrow will be all liquid precipitation, invest in a rain suit or a 40 gallon garbage bag.  The surface conditions will be great compared to what will follow this weekend with the obligatory set up.  Remember, you can only get wet once, then you're soaked.

Ski you on the hill.

Well I turned in with hope against hope that some winter miracle would happen.  One of the boy's woke me up with their terrible cough...I really hope he's not as sick as he sounds...and I looked outside.  Pouring.  Gore may only be a half an hour away but I have no desire to get soaked.  I'll save my skiing for another day.  Even when I don't ski I love winter....this winter is getting VERY discouraging.  Thanks again for all the feedback.  Hope the next few days get better.

Stowe seemed to get a net gain so far

The Sensation Quad is on hold due to icing. We received 3-4" of new snow overnight, followed by some mixed precipitation. Precipitation has tapered off leaving us with cloudy skies currently. Surface conditions are variable due to the mixed precipitation falling on top of the fresh overnight snowfall

Mansfield summit still well below freezing...........wonder what went on up there

As you know it can rain at temps well below 32F.  It poured at my house all night, and was still only 31 degrees this morning.   That's gonna be one hell of a crust on Mansfield.

Wow, are any lakes up there frozen? The ice fishing people must be driving their wives insane, staying home, drinking in the kitchen.
