Yep ... it was pretty good, especially first thing this morning. There were definitely a lot of problems, but there were also a few bright spots.

It was really puking first thing this AM, but unfortunately, the wind had been cranking all night, which rendered Skyward & Niagara closed, and Parons was quite a mixed bag. The lower mountain was decent, in spots. Lower Northway was really good, and stayed that way all day. Even Upper Valley held up pretty well, especially along the left side by the trees. Essex, which I expected to be pretty brutal, was still OK, even at 2:00.

To be sure, at this point, I've really lowered my expectations of what is and isn't good, but we don't really have too much choice given the weather we've had to deal with.

They're doing what they can out there ... it's time to just ski or not ski (or ride) and stop all the whining! (just my 2 cents) Last I checked, a bad day of skiing is still better than a good day at work!!!

Here's some shots from today.

Looking up Essex from Lower Northway

Mountain Run and Wilderness at the junction of the two

Mid-Station Lodge from Mountain Run and Wilderness junction

A peek at the summit on the way over from Kids Kampus

A nice view near the end of the day

I put a date on this.

Someday I going to ski with someone who can teach me to find the goods on a windy day at Whiteface.

You da man.  I've been skiing every chance I get, which is never nearly enough.

Those last two pics are beauties, but I like the dumpage.

Thanks for the reports guys.

Victoria's was excellent too!  All that wet manAmade overnight stuck to the "firm" and Victoria's was just soft bumps!  We hugged the left edge of Paron's from 2:00 till last chair.  Wind was depositing natural and manAmade in the dead tree glades and along the entire left edge of Parons!

Got to tell you, I was looking hard at upper cloud!!!  it's close - especially after the 7-inches that fell up top last night!!

Runs of the weekend.  Sat it was paron's. followed by the big W

Sunday.  Essex over to Victoria and Parons to Victoria.     Victoria was skiing better Sunday than it has in a long time.  Those bumps were perfect.   Bump runs next to people who can rip is a hoot.   We were puttin on a show for the orange jackets at the bottom.  Daberta BBA and I were crushing it.     Last run of the day i broke off to the big W.  Was the only one on the lifts as far as I could see.   Got to the top and there was a fresh 2 inches no one skied on.  Was skirting into the woods and the snow was nice.   Parons and Vic had better coditions with all the guns going but the W trail held its own...and it has a cool vibe.  The choker above lookout skiers rt was holding  snow.   Had to avoid the hydrants but It was not a ski of death.   Below lookout that trail turns into a blast.

We have to have a loop name.  essex to vic up to the top sky over to the W chair.  That is a long loop.   Thats my tour route when the VIP need to be shown around.   Usually they love it as they are dropped at the front door of the bar when it done.
Is it Friday yet?

Yeah ... I should have mentioned Victoria too. I thought it was better on Saturday than on Sunday, but that was because on Saturday, it was best right by the guns and it was pretty sketchy off to the left. It took me until late in the day on Sunday to figure out that it was really good on the left. I was still staying close to the guns and there were some major sheets of ice over there.
