I'd be a terrible parent, thank God I don't have kids. I don't even have the patience to talk to this young lad on the intrawebz.

I'm also confused by Sno's statement.

I should quit skiing if I don't like 6-packs (chairlifts)?

The mileage increases went from 20 miles to 25 miles at WF and Belleayre and 30 to 40 miles at Gore.
What's weird is that they used almost the whole ten miles on Pipeline.
And this was what I was getting at. There is probably a better way to design the layout and get the most of the milage.

I didn't realize Gore has 40. Still, the whole thing seems silly to me and the numbers aren't based on anything logical or scientific I'm guessing.

They could use some snowmaking capacity upgrades to allow everything to open by 12/26.

I'd say to always try and open as soon as humanly possible with the Little Whiteface chair and gondola downloading.  Then expand using last year's dates as a sample.
I think you have a lot to learn about what and who has control in this world we live in.

Wait.....I thought this thread was about trail milage?

Belleayre is ripe for a recutting if you ask me. Several of the trails in the middle are too close together, and too much the same as the one next to it! The Deer Run / Cayuga / Dot Nebel / Dreamcatcher / Tomahawk Glade section is pretty much perfect when snow is falling. There is a long glade, a thinner playful trail, a steep wide trail, a long cruisy trail with lots of variation, and a few rock drops in there if you know where to look. A cut over to some fresh terrain at highmount would keep me over there all day! Tomahawk quad is slow though.... On some of the plans, there are drawings of a real top to bottom trail, with part of the upper parking lot being relocated. I have never poached the Highmount side, but the old timers sure have fun hiking through the woods to get there.

I don't think they should cut any more trails at Belleayre. I would like to see more tree skiing on the lower gentle part of the mountain for new people like me to learn.  When I see people skiing in the trees I want to go but I'm a little nervous about it!  If they had a lesson for it I would take it.

You should go skiing with my crew sometime.  We will get you in the woods.  It's just like skiing bumps.  Just make sure you have a helmet.

Try the Belleayre Glade off Belleayre Run, it's one of the easier glades out there, especially the lower portion and narrow enough to allow an overwhelmed skier an easy escape.

Well Not entirely. The Edges of Belleayre are nice, but the middle Belleayre/Wanatuska/Yahoo/ runs aren't too much different, except when they let one go to bumps.

I have seen an instructor take a group of adults in to the trees before, so there must be some classes!
